FamilySearch.org has a Busy Labor Day

While most of the country took the day off, FamilySearch.org posted and/or updated four U.S. databases. The Labor Day additions include:

Illinois State Census, 1865 — Name index and images of the Illinois state census taken on 3 July 1865. The following counties are missing: Gallatin, Mason, Monroe and part of Tazewell. There are 380,262 records as of 5 September 2011 from 18 rolls of microfilm. Census data includes:

Name of head of family
Free white males by decennial age ranges; under 10, 10 to 20, 20 to 30, 30 to 40, etc.
Free white females by decennial age ranges; under 10, 10 to 20, 20 to 30, 30 to 40, etc.
Numbers of male and female Negros and mulattoes
Total number in household
Number of males eligible for duty in the militia
Manufactures by type (for example: mill, tin shop, saddle shop) and their value
Number and tons of coal products
Value of live stock
Value of grain products
Value of all other agricultural products

Illinois, Northern District Naturalization Index, 1840-1950 – The database is a Soundex Index to Naturalization Petitions for the United States District and Circuit Courts, Northern District of Illinois and Immigration and Naturalization Service District 9. Taken from file cards, the records actually cover petitions for residents of northern Illinois, northwestern Indiana, southern and eastern Wisconsin, and eastern Iowa. 1,491,586 records in the database as of 5 September 2011.

Montana, Cascade County Records, 1888-1945 – Imaged Records – Includes: Index to births 1893-1933, Certificates of birth 1918-1920, and Register of Births 1893-1933; Marriage license records 1950-1967; and County Court Records that include an Index to Wills Vol 1 1895-1930 and the Records of Wills Vol 1 1901-1930.- 83,466 as of 5 September 2011 – up 17,734 images since 19 Aug 2011.

United States Census, 1900 – Name index and images for the United States population in 1900. The Census included the Armed Forces (foreign country where census occurred) and the Indian Territory. Now standing at 17,014,324 records. These records include the following data:

Full name
Race
Sex
Age (can be used to calculate an approximate birth year)
Birth month and year
Relationship to the head of household
Birthplace of the individual and the parents (included even if the parents were not members of the household)
Marital status (single, married, widowed, or divorced)
Number of years married (can be used to calculate the approximate marriage year)
Number of children born to each mother and the number of those still living
Year of immigration and number of years in the United States
Whether a naturalized citizen
