Washington State Genealogy Conference in Full Swing!

We’re spending the day at the annual Washington State Genealogical Society Conference in Richland, Washington. It’s fun for me, in that I’m getting the opportunity to see a lot of my old friends. Following is an excerpt about the conference from the kndo.com website.

RICHLAND, WA– The Washington State Genealogical Society this weekend holds its annual conference in Richland.

About 200 people have registered to attend the two days of seminars and classes devoted to helping people trace their family roots.

Susan Faulkner, president of the Tri-Cities Genealogical Society, says the Internet has made it easier for people to trace their ancestors and find answers about their family’s history.

“One fun thing about genealogy is it’s a very active pursuit you can do in your robe in your living room,” Faulkner says. “However, if you want to expand and want to tiptoe through cemeteries or interact with an informational librarian, that’s available for you.”

Speakers at the conference include Patricia Walls Stamm, genealogist and Education Manager for the National Genealogical Society.
