Gary Boyd Roberts was interviewed on “Good Morning Live” on NECN in Boston this morning. During the interview, Gary revealed that President Obama is “very probably or quite possibly” related to the Presidents Harrison, both William Henry Harrison (President #9), and his grandson, Benjamin Harrison (President #23). It has already been established that Obama has cousinship to Presidents Carter, Johnson, Truman, Bush (2), Ford, and Madison.
Other Obama-related facts brought out in the interview include that:
- He is related to Robert E. Lee.
- Obama has two royal ancestry lines.
Gary’s new book, Ancestors of American Presidents, was also mentioned in the interview. This new revised edition has been updated to include information about Barack Obama, as well as new information about previous presidents. Building on the comprehensive research conducted for the previous edition, Roberts has exhaustively investigated the most reliable genealogical sources. The volume includes more than 150 charts, as well as comprehensive name and place indexes.

My mother’s mother’s grandfather was Henry Hedges Rogers. He ran a stable in Bridgehampton, Long Island. My maternal grandmother, Ada Rogers (later Tice) was born in Southampton in 1883. She was the second oldest of five children. I would estimate her father was born around 1845 or so. Can you tell me whether he was related to Henry Huttleson Rogers (a partner of John D. Rockefeller)? Thank you.
I mailed a letter to the Queen of England 10th of Feb 2012. I received a reply 19 March 2012.
“Dear Mr. Barnett,
The Queen has asked me to thank you for your letter of 10th February and to say that Her Majesty has taken careful note of your comments following the book you hav been studing entitled Ancestor of American Presidents.
Although this is not a matter of which The Queen would personally comment, it we nevertheless thoughtful of you to take the time and trouble to write as you did.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Jennie Vine
Deputy to the Senior Correspondence Officer.”
