The Arkansas Genealogical Society is sponsoring their annual seminar and book fair the weekend of November 4 & 5. Family Roots Publishing will be exhibiting at this program, and will have hundreds of genealogical reference books available for browsing and purchase.

The Arkansas Genealogical Society will host its annual seminar and book fair November 4-5, 2011 at the Wyndham Hotel in North Little Rock. This year’s featured speaker will be Mark Lowe, certified genealogist. Mark is a full-time professional genealogist, author and teacher who researches primarily in original records and manuscripts throughout the South. His experience as a classroom teacher, principal, and professional researcher provides a different perspective for each research problem. Mark will both inform and entertain you with his unique humor and southern style as he presents his lectures.
Mark will present a Special two-hour session Friday evening, “Preparing for a Day in Court”. Saturday Mark will present four one-hour sessions, “Out on a Limb, Trapped by Bad Research and Brick Walls”, “The Big Three: Tennessee’s Geographic Regions”, “Is it Really Online: Finding and Using Original Sources at Home or in the Library” and“Balancing on North Carolina”.
Registration begins Friday at 5pm and lectures at 6pm. Vendors will be open from 5-9pm Friday and AGS experts will be in the hall to answer your genealogy questions. The vendor hall will remain open all day Saturday. Saturday morning registration begins at 8am and lectures at 9am. Cost for the seminar is: Friday night only $30.00, Saturday only $35.00 (includes lunch for pre-registration), Friday and Saturday $50.00 (includes lunch for pre-registration).
