It seems that a while back, California researchers analyzed death records to find out whether there was any correlation between people’s initials and longevity.
They divided their subjects’ initials into positive as well as negative groups. The good-initial group had initials like ACE, WIN, WOW, and VIP; the bad contained RAT, BUM, SAD, and DUD. The researchers matched up initials with lifespans and sought any correlation. The results were interesting. It looked like a person’s initials may influence the time and cause of death.
Just for fun, compile list of your ancestors’ initials – and then then then record their life span. You most likely won’t learn a darned thing, but it will probably beat watching the boob tube for an evening…
I picked up on this corny idea in an interesting article on survival in Parade Magazine.
