Lucky, lucky me, I’m in Salt Lake City with a small group from Spokane. One additional benefit (beyond the obvious of being in Salt Lake!!) is that there are flowers blooming on Temple Square and there surely are not at home in Spokane. The little tete-a-tete daffodils are my favorite. They’re short and the blooms are tiny and they’re just so darling…….. and while they may be small, they scream loudly SPRING IS HERE! And we’re all very quite ready, I’m sure.
As it happens, I’m here when the City Creek Center has its Grand Opening. In two days downtown will be swarming with folks eager to see this new place after watching it being under contruction for so many years. (So when we again come as the Salt Lake Christmas Tour it will be open and all the “opening bugs” will be worked out.) I’m not a shopper but I confess I do like to visit the Brighton Collectibles shop.
I’m told that there are HUGE remodeling changes happening at the Plaza. Soon there will be a whole new lobby and meeting/dining room on the main floor (down across from the gift shop) as well as redecorating changes to the floors. (I agree; the carpts in the rooms are ancient.) Will it all be done by December? Don’t know. But Anthony promises that the main downstairs banquet room WILL WILL WILL be done and with a new sound system. Yahoo!
How did you mark St. Patrick’s Day? I am not a speck Irish. That’s the thing with genealogists; we may not know who we are but we do know who we are not, and I’m not Irish. And you?
Donna, aka Mother Hen, until next time.
