$388,869 was awarded to Crawford County, Kansas charities, organizations and schools yesterday by the Pritchett Trust. Recipients were able to pick up checks during a ceremony at M&I Bank. The Pritchetts operated an insurance agency in Pittsburg and, during the 1930s and 1940s, also invested in oil and gas leases in Kansas and Oklahoma, which proved to be successful.
Included in the list of recipients were the following:
- McCune Osage Township Library, $5,000 for a library addition for history, genealogy and museum items.
- $500 to students to document Italian Heritage Society stories and facts in a book.
