A suburban Chicago coroner wants to find a final resting place for cremated remains that have gone unclaimed.
Kane County Coroner Rob Russell says the remains of 47 people have been sitting in an office storage unit. Some are remains of people who died as early as 1952. One of the remains was donated to a suburban Goodwill store inside a Gold Medal Flour tin.
Russell says his office knows the names of the deceased and is trying to reunite them with their next of kin.
