The “Lone Ranger” Armie Hammer & Johnny Depp are Related to 2 American Freedom Fighters.

Looks like Lone Ranger stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer have taken just the right roles.

New research from Ancestry.com reveals that the actors are direct descendants of two real American freedom fighters.

According to the site, the stars’ family trees show that fighting for justice isn’t just a trait found in their movie characters. It runs in their blood.

Hammer is of Native American ancestry and the descendant of one of the earliest documented Cherokee leaders and known peace advocate, Chief Kanagatucko, according to the site.

And Depp’s eighth great-grandmother was Elizabeth Key, the first African-American woman in the American colonies to sue for her freedom from slavery and win.
