Pennsylvania Adoptee Bill Passes the House

A bill that would allow Pennsylvania-born adoptees who are 19 and older to access their original birth certificates without birth parents’ consent is making progress through the state Legislature.

The bill passed 24-1 through the state House of Representatives’ Children and Youth Committee Wednesday, and can now go to the full House for consideration.

“This is a win for adoptees, no doubt,” said Rep. Mark Rozzi, a Muhlenberg Township Democrat on the committee who voted for the bill.
