Ancestry.com posted several million indexed digitized civil register records this last week. The registers are from a number of areas of Germany – and include not only civil vital records registers, but residence registrations, recruitment records, emigration and family registers. There are even a few parish register transcripts. Doing a quick search for the surname Meitzler in the Rhineland-Palatinate records, I found a number of Meitzlers for whom I had no previous information. Cool…
