Lincoln Papers to Move to the Allen County Public Library in Late May

Allen County Library officials are finishing their preparations for the Lincoln documents that were previously cared lincolnpreparationsfor by the former Fort Wayne Lincoln Museum, now that the library has completed the remodeling necessary to care for the collection.

The Lincoln documents and manuscripts will be moved from the museum to the Allen County Public Library at some point in late May. This is the world’s largest privately held collection of Lincoln papers.

The most sensitive papers will be stored in a climate-controlled vault. Researchers will view those documents in the adjacent Fine Book Room, which will also hold volumes from the Lincoln research library.
