Rochester’s May Bragdon Diaries Digitized and Posted Online

Amazing! Every now and then something I can get really excited about gets posted. And today I am excited! It just happens that ResearchBuzz had an item posted that mentioned that the diaries of the early Rochester, New York cyclist, May Bragdon, had been digitized and posted online.

Seeing the post about Rochester caught my eye, as my Meitzler family settled in the Rochester area just after 1850. My father was born nearby, and my great grandfather was town clerk and postmaster in the suburb of West Brighton for many years.

The site is not only digitized, but transcribed and fully indexed. Searching on the words West Brighton, as well as Boughton brought about hits, and I immediately found items that dealt with not only the tiny village of West Brighton, but cousins who lived there prior to 1900!

Do you have Monroe County, New York ancestry? If so, you want to search these diaries!
