Dutchess County, New York to Digitize Naturalization Records 1932-1989

dutchesscountyclerk The Dutchess County Clerk, Brad Kendall, at Poukeepsie, New York, has secured a grant from Ancestry.com to scan and digitize the 1932-1989 naturalization records kept at the county.

About 20,000 people are covered by the records that include original petitions for naturalization, and signed oaths of allegiance. The records include the manner in which the person came to the USA, as well as original photographs.

The records will be scanned, imaged, and then posted on the Ancestry.com. Subscribers will have access to the information. Ancestry.com will also create an online index to the information, as they do all their offerings. A link to the data will be on the Dutchess County Clerk’s website.
