The doorbell just rang. On answering the door, a gentleman handed me a sheet of paper, informed me he was with the 2010 Census, stepped back from under the overhang of my front porch and took a GPS reading of where he stood. He commented that he had to get out from under the porch and the tree just to the side of my walk to get a reading. It looked to me like he was attempting to get as close to the front door as possible for the GPS reading.
Before leaving, the gentleman remarked that they were getting GPS coordinates on every dwelling in America, and that he didn’t have to do it all by himself – that he had help. He mentioned that as of today Bountiful, Utah is about 3/4 done.
I’d read in the paper that they were going to be doing this, and verifying addresses for the census forms that will be mailed to us.
