Remembering the Somerset Borough Sesquicentennial

The Somerset County [Pennsylvania] Historical & Genealogical Society is remembering one of the biggest events in Somerset County history: the Somerset Remembering the Somerset SesquicentennialBorough Sesquicentennial.

“The Somerset Sesquicentennial: 55 Years Later” will open at 9 a.m. Saturday at the historical center, 10649 Somerset Pike, Somerset.

Carrie Blough, Historical & Genealogical Society curator, said the display will feature official programs, souvenirs, memorabilia, costumes and more than 100 photographs from the late Walt Bowen, who documented the event. The event was held during the summer of 1954.
