The Naked Cowboy for Mayor of New York City

naked-cowboy Alerted by the NEHGS eNews Vol. 11, No. 32, (August 12, 2009) to the fact the there was an article in the New Yorker about Ohio genealogist Kenny Burke’s son, I clicked on over to check it out. Sure enough, in the “Family Tree” column, there was an article called Nude Dude, by Ian Frazier, about both Kenny and his son, Robert. It seems that Robert has become the third most popular tourist attraction in New York City. How? He sings country in Times Square, wearing nothing but his skivvies. See the Wikipedia article on the Naked Cowboy.

Robert, better known as “The Naked Cowboy,” is now running for mayor. Robert claimed in his July 22, 2009 campaign statement, that, “no one knows how to do more with less…” In this period of tight budgets, that should be a popular attribute.
