  1. How much would it cost for ordinary folks to get the genealogical experts you used for your TV show to do research on us? Who are the “experts”?

  2. Keep in mind that “I ” didn’t do any of this… I just blog about it. However, I do know many of the genealogists involved in the research. Let’s put it this way… Expect to pay a professional genealogist from $30 to $80 per hour. Professionals in the Salt Lake City area start at about $30 with exceptions {there’s an exception to every rule… so I’m leaving myself an out here. 🙂 } Professionals from Ancestry.com, Progenealogists, NEHGS and others worked on the projects. I do know that Progenealogists gets about $60 an hour for U.S. research and $70 an hour for foreign – and they’re worth every $ of it. I understand that they did much of the research for the series. And with NBC signing up for a second season, we’re all hoping that lots more exciting research is yet to be done. I do know that much has already been accomplished (on as many as 50 celebrities), figuring that the series would be a hit.
